Here is a collection of resources designed for Canadian classrooms. Many are either free or available for the cost of production. Some of them relate to websites, which – if you have online access – can give you more information. When this is the case, the URL is also included.

Creating a Climate of Change (Multimedia Kit)

In a Nutshell:

Secondary school teachers and students can make use of a multimedia kit that addresses the basic concepts of global climate change and the associated scientific, political, economic, social, national and international issues. It helps students and their families to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by using energy wisely.

Relevance: Excellent for Science, Geography, Social Studies, and Environmental Studies. Although materials are not northern specific, this resource is adaptable to the northern classroom. It is great for teachers who want a complete resource, with hands on, very worthwhile activities and background materials.

Way to Go! is a program to help students K-7 safely walk, cycle, car pool or take transit to school. Active ways of getting to school help reduce the greenhouse gas emissions responsible for changing our climate.
